10 Mar Down’s Syndrome Awareness Day
The 21st of March is Down’s Syndrome Awareness day, and in order to show our support in JGHS we would like to encourage you to take part in a fun and easy way to raise not only awareness but also vital funds for the Down’s Syndrome Association Scotland: on Friday the 20th of March, wear odd socks to school! The brighter and wackier the better.
Why the odd socks? Well, a chromosome looks a little like a sock and people with Down’s syndrome have an extra copy of the 21st chromosome. It’s a great way to open up conversations and help raise awareness.
All we ask is that as many of you as possible wears odd socks to school and brings a small donation to help support people living with Down’s syndrome in Scotland and their families.
